Patient-Friendly Scheduling Policies

We understand that life can be unpredictable. Our policies are designed to be fair while ensuring we can serve all our patients effectively.

1. Appointment Cancellation Policy

We request that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer your appointment time to another patient who may be waiting for care.

  • 24+ Hours Notice: No charge for cancellation or rescheduling
  • Less Than 24 Hours: May be subject to a cancellation fee
  • No-Show: May be subject to a no-show fee
  • Emergency Situations: Fees may be waived at our discretion

2. How to Cancel or Reschedule

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment by:

  • Calling our office at (540) 605-0660 during business hours
  • Emailing manager@blacksburgneurology.com
  • Leaving a voicemail message if calling after hours

Please provide your name, date of birth, and the date/time of your scheduled appointment when canceling.

3. Insurance and Billing

We accept most major insurance plans. To ensure smooth processing of your visit:

  • Bring your current insurance card to every appointment
  • Co-payments are due at the time of service
  • We will file claims with your insurance company on your behalf
  • You are responsible for any amounts not covered by insurance
  • Please notify us of any insurance changes before your appointment

4. Self-Pay Patients

For patients without insurance or who prefer self-pay, payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. Please contact our office to discuss payment arrangements if needed.

5. Diagnostic Testing Payments

Diagnostic tests such as EEG and EMG studies may have separate billing. Your insurance benefits for these services may vary. Our staff can provide estimated costs and verify your coverage before scheduling diagnostic procedures.

6. Outstanding Balances

Patients with outstanding balances may be asked to pay or arrange a payment plan before scheduling future appointments. We are committed to working with patients on reasonable payment arrangements when needed.
